STALKER 2: Heart Of Chornobyl Arriving On PS5 In Late 2025

GSC Game World has confirmed that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will release on PlayStation 5 in late 2025. The announcement arrived alongside a teaser video showing in-game characters using a console resembling Sony’s platform.

The studio shared the update via social media, stating, “The Zone’s boundaries grow—STALKER 2 arrives on PS5.” Players can now add the title to their wishlists on Sony’s digital storefront to receive alerts about pre-orders and launch details. A brief trailer, uploaded by IGN, hints at the game’s atmospheric world through cryptic scenes and custom controller designs.

Originally debuting in late 2024 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, the title’s PlayStation absence initially left fans questioning—though prior entries’ multi-platform availability suggested patience would pay off. Its Xbox launch faced criticism for technical instability, with many reviewers encountering bugs in pre-release builds. However, a day-one patch addressed major issues, earning praise from critics like Wccftech’s Alessio Palumbo, who called it “an authentic evolution of the franchise’s legacy” despite lingering flaws. To date, the game has attracted over six million players globally.

Developers have steadily refined the experience through updates, including a recent PC patch introducing mod support. The PS5 iteration could benefit from these cumulative improvements, offering a more stable and optimized version compared to its initial Xbox counterpart. With continued patches and potential enhancements for Sony’s hardware, the delayed release might deliver a polished experience for PlayStation audiences.
