Alien: Rogue Incursion – Evolved Edition Gameplay Unveiled Before September Launch

Latest 25/07/2025: Survios representatives informed Wccftech that existing owners of the VR release Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One must purchase the Evolved Edition anew to access its non-VR iteration.

At present, previous buyers must repurchase the Evolved Edition to experience the flat-screen adaptation,” the studio clarified via email.

While policies might shift before September’s launch, the current stance leaves early adopters unable to transition between platforms without additional cost. Fans hope Survios reconsiders, potentially offering complimentary access or discounted upgrades to reward loyalty.

Background:

Originally released in 2024 for PS VR2 and PC VR, followed by a Meta Quest 3 port this year, Alien: Rogue Incursion expands its reach with Evolved Edition, a traditional console/PC version announced in May. New gameplay footage debuted at SDCC 2025, confirming a September 30, 2025 release.

The preview highlights how Survios reworked the VR survival-horror mechanics into a third-person shooter format, retaining atmospheric tension while adapting controls for standard play.

Pre-orders for Evolved Edition now open at $29.99 (Standard) and $39.99 (Digital Deluxe). Survios hasn’t confirmed cross-ownership benefits, leaving VR users uncertain about upgrade pricing. We’ve reached out for details and will update accordingly.

For those preferring keyboard/mouse or controller combat against Xenomorphs, a separate purchase appears necessary unless the studio revises its approach. Meanwhile, development continues on Part Two, though no timeline has been shared beyond its confirmation.
