Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi RPG sequel, *The Outer Worlds 2*, has adjusted its retail cost ahead of its scheduled debut later this year for PC and consoles, avoiding a controversial $80 price tag.

Following community feedback, the studio announced via official channels that the title’s launch pricing has been lowered to $69.99 from the previously proposed $79.99. This decision addresses concerns about accessibility for the series’ growing fanbase, particularly given its more niche status compared to blockbuster franchises.

Recent reveals at the Xbox Game Showcase offered fresh insights into the sequel, including extended gameplay previews showcasing enhanced combat systems and narrative depth. These updates aim to build upon the original’s foundation, addressing critiques about repetitive mechanics noted in early reviews. As former reviewer Alessio observed:
