The GTA creator’s project faces an uncertain future as MindsEye acquires its core technologies.

The highly anticipated Everywhere project, envisioned as a groundbreaking platform for collaborative content creation, now faces an uncertain future. Recent developments reveal that its core development framework has been absorbed into MindsEye—the latest initiative from Build A Rocket Boy, the studio established by Grand Theft Auto architect Leslie Benzies.

Studio representatives recently confirmed the “Arcadia creation set,” initially designed as Everywhere‘s foundational technology, has now fully merged into MindsEye‘s infrastructure. This merged system operates through two components: Build.MindsEye (creation tools enabling user-generated game development) and Play.MindsEye (a distribution platform for sharing creations). What began as one element within Everywhere has effectively become the studio’s central focus.

While official statements avoid confirming Everywhere‘s cancellation, multiple indicators suggest its gradual deprioritization. Notably, the project’s official website now automatically redirects to MindsEye‘s online presence.

Amid growing speculation, journalists at Video Games Chronicle sought clarity from the developers. A company representative stated: “Arcadia naturally evolved into our MindsEye ecosystem during development,” explaining that beta testing data from the original platform informed MindsEye‘s current iteration.

“Creative visions adapt with progress. While Arcadia started as our universal creation system, MindsEye‘s evolution refined its purpose into the distinct Build and Play platforms within our studio ecosystem,” the spokesperson elaborated.

Follow-up inquiries from media outlets remain unanswered as of this reporting.

From Concept to Transformation

Initial announcements about Everywhere emerged in 2017, with concrete details surfacing six years later. Build A Rocket Boy originally promoted it as a hybrid platform blending gaming, social interaction, and sophisticated creation tools through its Arcadia system. This toolkit aimed to empower users to develop anything from basic assets to complex gameplay experiences.

Parallel development of MindsEye—initially described as an open-world action-adventure exclusive to Everywhere—took an unexpected turn in 2024 when IO Interactive announced it would publish the title as a standalone release.

MindsEye launches June 10, 2025, targeting PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Recent promotional materials have showcased gameplay footage and outlined post-launch content strategies.
