Sucker Punch Says Ghost of Yotei Matches Tsushima’s Length

During a recent discussion with VideoGamesChronicle, Sucker Punch confirmed that Ghost of Yotei’s playtime will mirror its predecessor. Data from HowLongToBeat shows the original title’s core narrative took approximately 25 hours, with optional quests extending playtime to 46 hours. Completionists reportedly spent upwards of 62 hours experiencing all content.

This depth of gameplay proved compelling, provided side activities maintain quality. Developers emphasized enhanced variety this time. Creative director Jason Connell remarked:

While crafting this sequel set in Hokkaido, we reconsidered exploration mechanics. Our goal was expanding player agency in discovering objectives and navigating environments. It’s a natural progression in how we interpret open-world freedom.

Co-director Nate Fox further explained:

There’s magic in those unscripted moments – riding through vibrant landscapes with faint guidance from environmental cues. The choice to follow curiosity rather than quest markers embodies what we love about open-world design. That player-driven exploration remains central.

Whether Ghost of Yotei will include multiplayer, akin to Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, remains unconfirmed. The original’s co-op mode launched post-release, suggesting potential parallels in rollout strategy.

Scheduled for PlayStation 5 release on October 2, a PC version appears inevitable given Sony’s recent patterns. However, this port could arrive 12-18 months post-console launch based on previous titles.
