Streum On Studio Exits Focus Entertainment, Teases New Game

Parisian game studio Streum On Studio has confirmed its departure from publisher Focus Entertainment, regaining full autonomy after a four-year partnership.

Established in 2007 by creators of the syndicate Black Ops Half-Life mod, the studio debuted with E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy in July 2011. This Source Engine-driven FPS/RPG hybrid plunges players into a bleak cyberpunk universe inspired by a homebrewed tabletop campaign. Centered on the E.Y.E. organization—a militarized wing of the clandestine Secreta Secretorum—the narrative follows operatives caught between warring internal factions (Jian and Culter) amid a coup against the tyrannical Federation. Players navigate shifting loyalties between Commander Rimanah and the enigmatic Mentor, unraveling corporate espionage and ideological clashes.

Post-E.Y.E., the team pivoted to licensed titles, delivering Warhammer 40K shooters like 2016’s Space Hulk: Deathwing and 2021’s Necromunda: Hired Gun. Focus Entertainment purchased the studio following Necromunda’s release, but the collaboration concluded abruptly this year. Streum On Studio has since repurchased its shares to operate independently.

A cryptic teaser (above) signals the studio’s next project, slated for a Summer 2024 reveal. With Summer Game Fest concluded, industry speculation points to Gamescom (August 19–24 in Cologne) as the likeliest venue for the official unveiling.
