Starfinder: Afterlight CRPG Hits Kickstarter Goal in 80 Minutes

Epictellers Entertainment, an indie studio from Barcelona, revealed that its upcoming tactical RPG Starfinder: Afterlight surpassed its initial Kickstarter target within 80 minutes of launch, securing over €75K. The campaign has since skyrocketed past €280K with nearly a month remaining, signaling strong audience anticipation.

Built on Paizo’s acclaimed sci-fi universe, the title blends strategic combat and narrative depth, inviting players to command a ragtag squad across dynamic worlds. Described as a fusion of Mass Effect and XCOM, the story begins with a captain’s mysterious disappearance amid a galactic crisis, thrusting players into leadership.

Six distinct allies—including cybernetic warriors and extraterrestrial mystics—join the journey, each shaping outcomes through loyalty shifts and factional alliances. Core mechanics draw from Starfinder’s updated tabletop system, featuring classes like Solarian energy wielders and tech-savvy Operatives. Procedural gear upgrades and divergent quest paths ensure replayability.

Exploration spans cyberpunk cities, alien crypts, and celestial realms across 40+ hours, complemented by modding tools and adaptive difficulty. Voice acting, supervised by Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion), enhances immersion. Early Access launches in Q2 2026 with Act 1 (10-15 hours), ahead of a full 2027 release.
