Racoon Logic Studios has unveiled its latest patch and trial version for Revenge of the Savage Planet, the follow-up to 2020’s fan-favorite Journey to the Savage Planet. While the preview is exclusive to Steam, the update launches across all systems, introducing an enhanced photography tool, expanded base decoration options, and a Performance graphics setting for PS5/Xbox Series consoles boosting frame rates to 60 FPS.
A feature trailer accompanied the announcement, highlighting new snapshot customization functions that allow players to adjust filters, poses, and even insert documented alien wildlife into scenes.
The trial version splits into two segments: an initial hour-long story teaser now available, and a forthcoming abilities showcase letting players experiment with endgame equipment. This second phase will support cooperative multiplayer – a core component of the interplanetary adventure’s chaotic charm.
Base personalization receives attention too, with four dozen additional props for tailoring shelter aesthetics. Players can now populate their habitats with eclectic furnishings and decorative accents.

“We understand budgets are tight. Seriously, we get it. If you’re on the fence about our passion project? Give the free preview a whirl,” quipped Racoon Logic’s creative director Alex Hutchinson in an official statement. “Four years of development for less than three lattes. Test-drive the intro, then play with maxed-out gear. Just try it? Pretty please?”
Fans of the original title should consider sampling this cosmic romp. In my earlier analysis for Wccftech, I noted: “Blending irreverent wit with environmental ingenuity, Revenge of the Savage Planet flourishes through sheer personality. While narrative depth remains elusive, its vibrant sandbox of interactable systems and imaginative design delivers slapstick interstellar enjoyment for upgrade-chasing explorers.”
