Saber Interactive Reveals Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a Survival-Horror Game Coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC

Saber Interactive recently sparked speculation with hints about an upcoming horror title, which fans quickly linked to the iconic Hellraiser franchise. Today, those guesses were confirmed with the announcement of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, a survival horror experience developed by Saber and Boss Team Games.

In an Xbox Wire feature, Nenad Tomic, the game’s executive producer, characterized the project as a “story-focused, single-player journey into terror.” Players assume the role of Aidan, a protagonist thrust into a nightmare when his partner, Sunny, is seized by the Cenobites’ leader after encountering the enigmatic Lament Configuration. The trailer showcases Aidan’s quest to navigate the Labyrinth’s torturous dimensions to rescue her, though survival may demand confronting unspeakable horrors along the way.

Clive Barker, creator of The Hellbound Heart and visionary behind the original film, played a pivotal role in shaping the game’s direction. Tomic emphasized Barker’s influence, stating, “His guidance has been pivotal—from aesthetics and narrative themes to the nuances of the Cenobites’ twisted philosophy. His input guarantees the game honors the series’ legacy while forging new ground.”

Barker himself remarked in the announcement, “This collaboration with Saber and Boss Team Games has been a profound exploration of visceral imagination. Their commitment to capturing Hellraiser’s duality—the allure of agony intertwined with grotesque elegance—is extraordinary. I anticipate players will confront a tale where every choice dances between revelation and damnation.”

Though drawing inspiration from the first two films, Revival presents an original storyline within the franchise’s universe. Familiar elements like the Lament Configuration and the Cenobites’ nightmarish realm will intertwine with new characters and plot threads. While no release date was specified, Tomic hinted the game is “emerging sooner than anticipated,” with further details slated for late 2025. Given the genre, an October launch—aligning with Halloween—remains a strong possibility.
