Capcom has officially unveiled the next installment in its iconic survival horror franchise, titled Resident Evil Requiem. Though commonly referred to as Resident Evil 9, the game’s formal designation introduces a more somber thematic tone.

“Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living” serves as the trailer’s chilling tagline.

Described as the ninth main series entry, Resident Evil Requiem emphasizes atmospheric terror and desperate survival scenarios. The title launches February 27th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, with playable demos planned for Gamescom 2024.

Earlier this year, subtle clues pointed to the project through Resident Evil 4 Remake celebrations. Astute followers identified Roman numeral IX hidden within promotional imagery, foreshadowing this announcement.
