It seems a remake of the JRPG classic Persona 4 is inevitable, following months of hints and now with a voice actor from the original game publicly commenting on the project.
Yuri Lowenthal, known for voicing Yosuke in Persona 4 and Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man, recently discussed the rumored remake on Bluesky. The tone was somber, as he stated: “And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”
The fact that Lowenthal isn’t reprising his role in the Persona 4 remake suggests that Atlus may be adopting a similar approach to the one used for Persona 3 Reload, bringing in a completely new voice cast.
After the success of the third game’s remake, which quickly became the developer’s fastest-selling game, the possibility of reviving the fourth game seemed strong. A potential domain name has already been noted, and with the summer gaming announcement season just weeks away, the Persona 4 remake announcement might be upcoming.
