NVIDIA Unveils DLSS 4, Path Tracing, and RTX Mega Geometry Through New Bonsai Diorama Demo

NVIDIA has unveiled an interactive ‘Bonsai Diorama’ tech demo available for download, highlighting advancements in DLSS 4, real-time path tracing, and RTX Mega Geometry. This demonstration aligns with Unreal Engine RTX branch v5.6.1, emphasizing upgraded ReSTIR PT and the complete DLSS 4 toolkit (Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction).

To experience the demo, a GeForce RTX 2080Ti is required as baseline hardware, while NVIDIA advises using the RTX 5060 for optimal performance. Drivers must be updated to version 581.29 or later for compatibility.

Resolution adjustments are locked post-launch, requiring users to configure display settings in the main menu. Full-screen mode is suggested for 8GB GPUs at 1080p/1440p, whereas 4K is feasible for 11GB+ GPUs. During gameplay, press H to access UI controls for toggling RTX Mega Geometry/Ray Reconstruction, while DLSS modes (Off, DLAA, Quality, etc.) and Frame Generation scaling (2x-4x) can be modified.

The demo’s centerpiece is RTX Mega Geometry, which integrates Nanite geometry into ray tracing workflows to eliminate artifacts in reflections and shadows—previously seen in titles like Alan Wake 2. NVIDIA emphasizes this enhancement resolves Unreal Engine 5’s default rendering limitations.

On October 28 at 10 AM PT, NVIDIA will host a developer webinar for technical Q&A on the demo’s architecture and features.

Separately, NVIDIA’s ACE platform now supports the Qwen3-8B AI model via its In-Game Inferencing SDK. This integration enables dynamic non-scripted interactions by optimizing concurrent AI/graphics processing. Developers can deploy smarter NPCs capable of contextual reasoning during gameplay.

ACE enhancements include:

  • MultiLORA adapters for lightweight model customization
  • Vulkan-backed CUDA optimizations to accelerate hybrid rendering workloads
