The Nintendo Switch mobile app has received a significant redesign as fans eagerly wait for the release of the new Switch 2 on 5th June 2025.
Now referred to as ‘Nintendo Switch App’, the updated version enables users to view friends’ profiles and receive optional notifications when they go online.
A key feature is its compatibility with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, enabling notifications for GameChat invites and improving screenshot management.
With the Switch 2, using the ‘Upload to Smart Device’ feature will now send screenshots directly to the Nintendo Switch app, storing up to 100 files for 30 days. You can also set it to upload screenshots automatically, saving time and effort.
Alongside hardware advancements, a new feature called ‘Zelda Notes’ for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be accessible via the main menu. While it’s not functional yet, we expect it to become available at the Switch 2 launch next week.
