Nintendo Switch 2 units are beginning to emerge online, and an individual has shared a walkthrough of the initial setup process, capturing what happens when you first power on the console, excluding features that aren’t functional without the day-one patch.
A Russian YouTube channel recently shared a video detailing the entire setup experience for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the volume set to maximum to allow viewers to hear the introductory music and other sounds during the process.
As expected, the video was swiftly removed, likely due to Nintendo’s efforts to contain leaks ahead of the console’s imminent launch. However, platforms like Wccftech managed to capture the content, revealing that the console’s home screen remains mostly unchanged.
Within the system settings, the layout and options are largely familiar, though some updates are present, such as the ability to set TV resolutions up to 4K when connecting your Switch 2. However, the console still offers only two basic themes: White and Black, much like its predecessor in 2017.
While additional themes could be added later, it’s uncertain if this will happen, given that the original Switch has maintained its two base themes for over eight years.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 launch scheduled for June 5, 2025, and the day-one patch ready for download, it will be intriguing to see the full extent of changes and similarities when the console becomes available.
