New Gameplay Footage from Canceled Prey 2 by Human Head Studios Leaks

Recently, leaked material showcasing the canceled sequel to Prey (2006), developed by Human Head Studios, emerged online via YouTube uploads under the account ‘David Halsted.’ However, those videos have since been taken down. Additional clips resurfaced in a years-old forum thread flagged by New Blood Interactive’s Dave Oshry, who later consolidated the content into a five-minute preview.

Though the original Imgur link shared in the thread now leads to a dead page, Oshry’s compilation reveals a polished segment of gameplay, highlighting Human Head’s ambitious vision. The footage suggests the studio aimed to craft a sprawling sci-fi RPG—one that, in retrospect, appears comparable to modern titles like Cyberpunk 2077, hinting at concepts ahead of its era.

This leak coincides with renewed discussion around Bethesda’s handling of the Prey franchise. In a recent interview, former Bethesda executive Pete Hines reflected on internal debates regarding Arkane Austin’s 2017 reboot, expressing frustration over its contentious naming choice. “That title sparked more debate than excitement,” Hines stated. “My team argued we’d waste energy justifying the name rather than celebrating the game itself. I pushed hard against it, but got outvoted.

With this recent influx of archival material, questions linger: could more of Prey 2’s unreleased builds surface? For fans, the footage serves as both a tantalizing glimpse into Human Head’s scrapped project and a reminder of the studio’s unrealized potential.
