In an unexpected move, developers from the Monster Hunter Wilds team are set to present at CEDEC 2025 about refining game performance, despite ongoing struggles with optimization across platforms.
A session listing reveals programmers Yuichi Ito and Takanori Nakamura will discuss their approach to sustaining “smooth functionality” during the conference’s July 24 event. The announcement has drawn skepticism, given that the title still faces frame rate drops and instability on most hardware without high-end specs or upscaling tech enabled.
Months after its release, performance concerns persist. While Update 2 (released July 1) marginally improved memory management, core optimization flaws remain unaddressed. The patch also introduced fresh instability, prompting reports of crashes. A hotfix (v1.020.01.00) was announced via Monster Hunter Wilds’ official Twitter to resolve these crashes and erratic framerates when using ranged weaponry.
Monster Hunter Wilds is playable on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For insights into its strengths beyond technical hiccups, explore our comprehensive review.
