With MindsEye launching in seven days, Build A Rocket Boy faces turbulence as two senior executives abruptly exited the studio. Riley Graebner (Marketing Director) and Paul Bland (Finance Director) departed without public explanation, despite the project’s imminent release.
Graebner confirmed their resignation through a LinkedIn post, stating:
After three and a half years my time at BARB has come to a close. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. During that time we more than doubled the size of the company to over 450 employees. We launched multiple products worldwide. We built the legal team and legal ops infrastructure from the ground up, working to systemize and automate.
Co-CEO Marek Gerhard fueled speculation by claiming on Discord that negative MindsEye critiques stemmed from paid campaigns. This assertion, combined with the sudden exits, has intensified fan concerns. Reddit discussions reveal players questioning studio stability, with some abandoning pre-orders fearing quality issues. The title launches June 10, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
