Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition Leaked Ahead of Announcement

Images of a limited Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition have surfaced online, shared by X user Zuby_Tech. Reports suggest an announcement could arrive imminently, with Game Sandwich indicating a potential June 24 release date for the co-branded VR system.

According to details shared, the collaboration-themed headset features Xbox-inspired black-and-green styling, paired with an Elite Strap, wireless controller, and three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. Hardware specifications reportedly mirror the standard Meta Quest 3S, including its 128GB storage capacity, while retail pricing remains unchanged at $399.

This partnership follows Meta’s April 2024 decision to license its VR operating system to external manufacturers. During that announcement, ASUS confirmed plans for a Republic of Gamers-branded headset, though updates remain scarce. Simultaneously, Meta teased plans for an exclusive Xbox-themed Meta Quest variation.

Microsoft continues expanding access to Xbox services across platforms, having introduced Xbox Cloud Gaming support for Meta Quest devices last year. This feature enables Game Pass Ultimate members to stream titles at 1080p/60fps resolution, simulating an immersive 2D display environment within the headset.

The initiative aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy to extend Xbox ecosystems beyond traditional hardware. While niche VR partnerships may not revolutionize market dynamics, they reinforce the company’s cross-platform ambitions for gaming accessibility across TVs, mobile devices, and virtual reality systems.
