Details about the pricing tiers for ASUS’ ROG Xbox Ally handheld devices have emerged, revealing costs that are more budget-friendly than anticipated given their features.
Spanish tech outlet 3D Juegos reported that ASUS inadvertently disclosed European pricing for both variants. The standard edition is expected to retail at €599 (approximately $650), while the advanced X version will be priced at €899 (around $975). Although these figures might appear high for casual gamers, they align with competing portable gaming systems and match prior industry estimates.
Following months of speculation, the ROG Xbox Ally lineup was formally unveiled at this year’s Xbox Game Showcase. The entry-level unit features an AMD Ryzen Z2A chipset, designed to optimize performance and energy usage for extended gameplay sessions. The upgraded X variant boasts an enhanced AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, enabling superior frame rates and graphic fidelity. Both models exclude OLED panels in favor of VRR compatibility, balancing display quality with affordability.
A global release timeline remains unconfirmed, though earlier leaks hinted at an October rollout. With pricing details now circulating, Microsoft and ASUS may be preparing to confirm final pricing and availability soon.
