Unity Games and Konami have joined forces to revive Survival Kids as part of Nintendo’s next-generation console lineup, scheduled for release on June 5, 2025. Following a brief teaser shown during a recent hardware-focused presentation, details about the project remain scarce.
In a recent discussion with journalist Stephen Totilo (accessible via Game File subscription), Unity’s lead developer Andy Dennison confirmed the title will support three-player local collaboration through an innovative sharing system operating at 30 frames per second. This feature eliminates the requirement for additional game purchases.
The cross-generation compatibility enables simultaneous play between original Switch hardware and its successor. As long as one player owns the upgraded version, groups can combine consoles for shared sessions through proximity-based connectivity.
Dennison described the technology as similar to traditional split-screen modes but utilizing compression algorithms for wireless data transfer to secondary devices. Significant technical refinements were implemented to maintain stable performance during multiplayer scenarios. Participants simply activate the console’s sharing interface for instant access.

Multiple media outlets recently tested preview builds, with Mirror Gaming highlighting intricate environmental puzzles and Metro suggesting it could become a standout exclusive. This revival follows Konami’s legacy of wilderness adventure titles dating back to portable systems, with earlier entries available through Nintendo’s classic gaming service.
