Koei Tecmo Suggests Switch 2 Is Closer to Xbox Series S Than PS4

Assessing hardware capabilities often leads to spirited debates among gaming enthusiasts. Following initial speculation about Nintendo’s upcoming console aligning with PlayStation 4 benchmarks, fresh insights from developers hint at greater potential. Koei Tecmo representatives, for instance, propose its performance edges nearer to current-generation systems than previously assumed.

During a discussion with wccftech regarding Wild Hearts S’s adaptation, producer Takuto Edagawa remarked, “There are a lot of characteristics when it comes to raw computing power, so it’s difficult to generalise, but I think it can be thought [of] as closer to the Series S”. This perspective highlights notable advancements over prior Nintendo hardware, suggesting enhanced processing muscle.

While direct parity with flagship consoles like PS5 remains unlikely, these evaluations imply meaningful strides in technical specifications. Upcoming ports of demanding titles such as Star Wars Outlaws further signal confidence in the platform’s upgraded architecture.

Edagawa also clarified technical adaptations for the Switch 2 iteration, noting the absence of DLSS integration but emphasizing refined tactile feedback through HD Rumble 2. This approach prioritizes intuitive controls while maintaining development efficiency.

The revamped version of Wild Hearts S launches 25th July, introducing expanded multiplayer features and collaborative gameplay enhancements tailored for Nintendo’s ecosystem.
