Genshin Impact Discontinues PS4 Support, Raises PC Requirements

HoYoverse announced today that Genshin Impact will discontinue PlayStation 4 compatibility, citing hardware constraints and platform storage limitations. Players can no longer download the title from the PlayStation Store starting September 10, though existing installations will remain playable until April 2026. In-game transactions will cease on February 25, though unclaimed purchases can still be redeemed until the final shutdown.

To accommodate advancing technical demands, updated minimum specifications for PC and mobile devices will take effect with the Song of the Welkin Moon patch. While underpowered hardware may still run the game, users could encounter reduced performance or instability. The developer clarified that the revised system requirements remain accessible for most players, particularly on PC platforms.

Currently, Genshin Impact remains accessible on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile platforms.
