At Summer Game Fest 2025, PlaySide Studios revealed their latest project, Game of Thrones: War for Westeros. This PC-exclusive RTS title immerses players in George R.R. Martin’s legendary universe, fulfilling years of anticipation among enthusiasts.

With War for Westeros, we’re transporting players into the heart of the Seven Kingdoms’ power struggles. Forget watching the conflict unfold—you’ll seize control. Whether ruling as Starks, Lannisters, or Targaryens, or marching with the Night King’s undead legions, your choices will carve history anew.

Players will command iconic factions like House Stark, House Lannister, or Daenerys Targaryen’s forces, with the Night King offering a chilling alternative. The game emphasizes tactical warfare, requiring shrewd alliances and calculated betrayals. Each faction boasts unique playstyles, legendary characters, and specialized units — from armored knights and war elephants to fire-breathing dragons. Hero units bring game-changing abilities to the battlefield, testing commanders’ strategic prowess under pressure.

Spanning locations like Winterfell and Dragonstone, the game features both rapid skirmishes and sprawling campaigns. Persistent consequences ensure every victory and defeat impacts the larger war effort. Solo or multiplayer modes let audiences reinterpret decisive moments from the saga, leveraging political intrigue to destabilize rivals and secure allegiance through diplomacy or force.
