Ways to calm baby Lou in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

As you journey through Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, your companion BB, Lou, might occasionally become distressed amidst various challenges and adversaries. Since Lou is an infant, it’s crucial to know how to comfort them when upset.

Calming Baby Lou in Death Stranding 2: Step-by-Step Guide

Lou preparing for the journey ahead in Death Stranding 2

Lou can become distressed in various situations during your journey—whether caught in water, engaged in combat, near BTs, or simply after a fall. Such distress can attract unwanted dangers. Follow these steps to soothe her:

  • Press and hold the L1 button.
  • While holding L1, press the down direction on the D-pad.
  • This releases Lou from your suit, allowing you to cradle her.
  • Rock your controller gently to mimic soothing motions.
  • Once Lou’s status indicator turns from frowning to content, press Square to stop.

After comforting, Lou remains calm until another unsettling event occurs. Find a secluded spot to avoid detection, as removing Lou from the suit activates a visible light.

Neglecting to calm Lou leads to extreme stress, causing her to transform within the pod and lose her ability to sense BTs. If this occurs, seek shelter and rest to allow her recovery.
