The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a fantastic remaster, offering a significant upgrade in visual quality compared to the original. But it’s more than just a graphical overhaul—it introduces new content, like the “In the Beginning” expansion. This expansion adds 18 fresh puzzles, 16 of which were created in collaboration with the game’s dedicated community. These puzzles are notoriously challenging but fair, with a clever trick at their core. If you’re stuck on the Subway Escape puzzle, here’s a hint: redundancy is key. If you’re ready for the full solution, let’s dive in.
Walk into the Subway Escape area, and you’ll notice a train car surrounded by a fence, along with shields and turrets. The solution doesn’t involve these elements. Instead, everything hinges on the purple forcefield on the left side of the room. Step through it and pick up the jammer to begin.
Talos Principle: Reawakened – In the Beginning – Subway Escape Puzzle Guide
After grabbing the jammer, head around the corner to the shield blocking the elevator. Use the jammer to deactivate it and proceed.

- Move past the shield, pick up the connector near the elevator, and descend with it.

- At the bottom, locate the second jammer (J2), which is deactivating a shield. Use the connector to link the red laser generator to the red node, creating redundancy with J2 to keep the shield inactive.

- Move J2 to the other side of the shield, ensuring it remains deactivated, and bring the connector to the corner of the room.

- Use J2 to deactivate the shield blocking the fan, pressure switch, and hexahedron. Place the hexahedron on the pressure switch, pick up the connector, and use the fan to reach the upper level. Connect the blue laser generator to the blue node on the lower level to maintain redundancy.

- Return to the bottom level with J2, place it near the connector, and use the connector on the pressure switch to reactivate the fan. Carry the hexahedron back up with you.

- Collect the second hexahedron from the purple forcefield and bring both hexahedrons to the area near J2.

- Carefully step across the hexahedrons while holding J2, being cautious not to fall. Position yourself on the far side to deactivate the next shield.

- Place the hexahedrons on the pressure switches to deactivate the shield ahead.

- With J2 in hand, move through the deactivated shield and return to the bottom level via the elevator.

- Use J1 and J2 to deactivate the shields blocking access to the train car and the tetromino. Approach the tetromino to complete the puzzle.

Once the puzzle is solved, the train will move through the turrets, taking you to the next challenge, which is widely regarded as the most difficult in the game.
