Talos Principle: Reawakened didn’t just add a fresh Unreal Engine 5 upgrade to Croteam’s iconic puzzle game, The Talos Principle. It also introduced a new collection of challenges with the In the Beginning expansion, developed in collaboration with a select group of the game’s community members.

Upon entering the puzzle area, you’ll notice a recorder on your left and the target tetromino behind laser walls on your right. Most of the puzzle revolves around elements on the left, with the final steps requiring you to navigate to the right side to retrieve the tetromino.

Phase One

• Start by initiating the recording. Approach the connector on the right, which is positioned on a pressure switch. Pick it up and attach it to the red laser generator around the corner. Set a pause point after placing it.

• Leave the connector in place and step onto the pressure switch it was originally on. Create another pause point. Once both points are set, return the connector to the pressure switch and exit the area to stop the recording.

• When the recording begins, grab the connector and position yourself at the far end of the pathway opposite where your recorded self will place the connector. Use it to connect the red laser to the red node on your right and the recorded connector to the node across the room.

• Let the recording play until your recorded self stands on the pressure switch, then move back into the central puzzle area.

• Continue the recording. Once your recorded self releases the pressure switch, stop the recording. The connector should now direct the red laser across the room, activating the node that deactivates the shield blocking the tetromino.

Phase Two

• Create a new recording. Step onto the pressure switch on the right side of the puzzle area and set a pause point while it’s active.

• Stop the recording and let it play up to the pause point. Your recorded self will deactivate the shield, allowing the red laser to hit the node that unlocks the path to the tetromino.
• Move to the tetromino to complete the puzzle.
