The Talos Principle: Reawakened rebuilt the original 2014 puzzle game and its Road to Gehenna expansion with an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5, but it didn’t stop there. It also introduced a brand-new expansion called In the Beginning, which includes an additional 18 puzzles to tackle in the original game and its first DLC.

Narratively, In the Beginning serves as a prequel to the first game, but what sets it apart is that 16 of the 18 puzzles were crafted in collaboration with community members who have been creating their own puzzles for over a decade.

The result is an expansion so challenging that the puzzles in In the Beginning are already earning a reputation as some of the toughest in the entire series.

This guide will help you solve the Blocker puzzle in the expansion. If you just need a hint, the key is to leave the jammer alone—it’s already handling everything you need it to. Keep reading for the full solution.

Phase One – Acquire the second connector

Upon entering the puzzle area, you’ll quickly realize that you need a second connector to deactivate the shield blocking the tetromino. It’s easy to assume the jammer on the right side is part of the solution, but as mentioned in the hint, you don’t need it. The shield in the wall between the two sides of the area will stay down if you leave it as is.

Instead, your first task is to obtain the hexahedron.

When you enter the puzzle area, walk forward and pick up the connector (C1). Connect it to the red laser generator and the red node behind a fan that launches you to an elevated platform in the top-right corner.

Once the laser activates the fan, use it to reach the platform and grab the hexahedron. Then, jump back down to the ground.

Place the hexahedron in front of the fan. Then, pick up C1 and connect it to the red laser generator, the node behind the fan, the blue laser generator, and the blue node on the opposite side of the puzzle area, behind a wall.

Set C1 on top of the hexahedron. Your laser pattern should now look like this.

Position yourself in front of the blue laser generator so the red laser can connect to the node that activates the fan.

When the fan launches you into the air, the blue lasers will connect instead of the red ones, activating the blue node on the far left of the area. This simultaneously disables the shield blocking C2 and triggers a fan to push it onto the ground, allowing you to collect it.

Important note: The hexahedron won’t stay aloft with C1 on top for long, so you may need to retry this step. The C2 might get stuck before landing, so be prepared to try again.

Phase Two – Solve the Puzzle

Collect C1, C2, and the hexahedron and bring them together.

Pick up C1 and connect it to the red laser generator, the red node behind the fan, and the red node on the other side of the shield blocking the tetromino.

Pick up C2 and use the fan to launch yourself to the elevated platform. Connect C2 to the blue laser generator and the blue node to fully deactivate the shield blocking the tetromino.
