Deep within Belton’s Bore resides Wrenching Allen, an artist struggling to assemble a chair for the side mission “The Importance of Being Furnished.” Without proper guides and plagued by missing parts and critiques, his masterpiece remains incomplete. Assist him and determine whether to sell or dismantle the finished product.

This optional mission becomes available after completing “Shadow of the Mountain,” granting access to Allen’s workshop. Your task is to locate his missing assembly guide across multiple areas.

Locate the assembly manual

Allen instructs you to investigate three potential locations for his misplaced instructions:

Inspect refuse containers

The player looks at trash cans

Navigate to the cavern’s northern section near storage units and examine garbage bins. This prompts Allen to redirect you to laundry facilities.

Examine laundry machines

Move westward from the trash area to find washing machines on elevated platforms. Opening these reveals no instructions, leading to the next location.

Check cooking equipment

Journey northeast beyond the cavern to examine outdoor cooking apparatus. Finding nothing here transitions the objective to neutralizing detractors.

Eliminate critics

Hostile reviewers emerge from cliffs above the grills. Defeat these adversaries before shifting focus to gathering chair components.

Collect chair parts

Five fragments must be retrieved from Belton’s Bore, with two outside and three within the cavern:

The initial segment rests beside the entrance before the bridge.

The first piece leans up against a wall outside of the cavern

The second component sits along the tunnel’s southwestern wall post-bridge crossing.

Locate the third piece adjacent to the fast travel station.

The third piece beside the fast travel point

The fourth fragment lies beneath the Golden Key chest’s platform.

Discover the final piece on elevated piping near the cavern’s eastern staircase.

Assemble the chair

Return to Allen with all fragments to finalize construction.

Chair’s Fate: Sell or Smash?

The player looks at the completed chair

After completion, Allen offers compensation for the chair or suggests destroying it. While selling provides marginally more currency, obliterating it yields unique dialogue.
