As the eighteenth mission in Chapter 4 of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, The Counterstrike pits you against the colossal Archfiend Grimgohma. This encounter demands strategic adaptability as you confront formidable foes like the Fire Boss Bokoblin, Stone Talus, and Fire Lynel. Each enemy requires distinct tactics, keeping combat dynamic and intense.
Designed for level 37 players, the challenge escalates midway when Princess Zelda allies with your forces. Her arrival shifts the battlefield dynamics, enabling coordinated assaults on multiple fronts.
Completing the Counterstrike Quest
Initiate combat by stealth-attacking the initial Fire Boss Bokoblin for an early advantage and bonus rewards. Proceed westward to eliminate the Stone Talus guarding an outpost. After securing this area, divide your forces: deploy allies northward while advancing south to claim another stronghold.

Engage the Black Hinox cautiously, evading its explosive projectile attacks. Exploit openings during its recovery phases to deal maximum damage. Upon defeating it, Zelda becomes controllable—utilize her abilities to seize eastern and southeastern outposts while you neutralize a Black Boss Bokoblin. Clearing these zones unlocks the path to the Fire Lynel in the southeast corner. Vanquishing this foe grants access to Grimgohma’s arena.
During Grimgohma’s initial phase, target its armored exterior with explosives and energy cells. Once vulnerable, unleash powerful combos. The second phase involves deflecting non-glowing debris while avoiding explosive boulders. Repeat this process to expose its core and deliver the final blow.
Counterstrike Quest Rewards
Completing this mission yields 300 Rupees, substantial experience gains, and opportunities to acquire rare gear and Korok Seeds—a worthy haul for overcoming its rigorous trials.
