How to Cook Food in PEAK

Fueling your expeditions in PEAK requires smart meal planning. We’ll break down the basics of preparing nourishing snacks for your climbs.

Unlike survival titles requiring complex ingredient hunts, this game simplifies cooking. Gather any edible finds along your path without needing specialized recipes. Flames scattered throughout the environment serve as impromptu kitchens, letting you transform raw materials into enhanced provisions.

Cooking Locations Explained

Any active heat source becomes your cooking station. Early game options include the smoldering aircraft wreckage visible during initial moments. More reliable are the mountain basecamps – these rest stops allow both team recovery and culinary experimentation.

Follow this preparation method:

  • Move desired ingredients to your quick-select toolbar
  • Activate the item in your hands
  • Approach flames and use the interaction command (default E key)

Benefits of Prepared Meals

While immediate consumption works, cooking amplifies benefits. An uncooked coconut might replenish some stamina, but its roasted version doubles the restoration. Note that heat preparation doesn’t neutralize harmful properties – toxic fungi remain dangerous despite increased buffs.

Certain items require preprocessing: crack coconuts against rocks, smash eggs on hard surfaces, and extract honey from combs before heating. Ready-to-eat provisions like canned drinks bypass this system entirely.
