Deltarune Piano Puzzle Guide (Chapter 4)

In Chapter 4 of the game, you can unlock a secret boss and obtain Susie’s magic axe by solving a piano puzzle. To achieve this, first locate three hidden music notes before progressing too far in the story.

Locating the Music Notes

*updating with pictures soon

  • Behind the Donation Waterfall

One note is tucked behind the waterfall where donations are dropped. It’s easily missed—inspect the edges carefully.

  • Near Gerson Boom’s Area

After meeting Gerson Boom, scour the surrounding area. The second note is hidden nearby.

  • The Jockington Beard Room

In the room with the message “Jockington grows the beard,” search the top-left corner to claim the third note.

Warning: Progressing too far in the story locks access to these areas. Prioritize collecting all notes early.

Accessing the Golden Piano

Two paths lead to the piano, both requiring shelf-climbing:

  • Study Room Route: Use the top-left door near the boss’s room. Climb the right shelf, then ascend the shelf above it.
  • Fireplace Room Route: Go upstairs, take the left door, and climb the right-side shelf in the next room.

If paths become blocked later, reload a save file before advancing the story.

Piano Puzzle Solution

At the golden piano, input this sequence exactly:

Up, Dot, Up, Left, Down, Dot, Right, Dot, Right, Down, Left, Dot

Success triggers a cutscene, rewards Susie’s axe, and initiates a secret boss fight.
