Square Enix has unveiled a fresh HD-2D action RPG titled The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, set for release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. Revealed during Nintendo’s latest Partner Showcase, the project marks a bold new direction for the publisher.

Players assume the role of protagonist Elliot and his mystical partner Faie as they venture into Philabieldia, a treacherous realm where humanity’s sole refuge lies within the magically shielded kingdom of Huther. When ancient ruins beckon beyond protective barriers, the pair confronts mythological threats across a multi-era saga blending magic and technology.

Gameplay reimagines retro-inspired mechanics through modern visuals, featuring dynamic combat with real-time weapon switching and special abilities. The debut trailer highlights environmental puzzles and boss battles reminiscent of genre-defining titles, while incorporating signature elements from Square Enix’s beloved franchises.
