Analytics leader Newzoo revealed its May 2025 rankings of highest-earning games and monthly active users (MAU), spotlighting Elden Ring Nightreign’s forceful debut and Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered maintaining steady top-20 performance across both metrics.

Launched May 30, Elden Ring Nightreign secured fourth place in revenue rankings despite its late-month release, trailing only Fortnite (#1), EA Sports FC 25 (#2), and Call of Duty (#3). The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered persisted in the top 20 for consecutive months, while id Software’s DOOM: The Dark Ages (#9) entered the revenue chart.

Surprise performers included Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (#8), surpassing DOOM in revenue, and Star Wars Battlefront II’s enduring popularity (#15 MAU), outpacing DOOM’s player count. Below are Newzoo’s full findings for PC/console titles in May 2025:
