Analytics group Newzoo recently published its monthly breakdown of top-performing gaming titles across PC and consoles for September 2025. While EA Sports FC 26 claimed the highest earnings, it notably missed the top 10 in player activity rankings. Meanwhile, the long-awaited Hollow Knight Silksong outperformed several blockbuster releases to secure fifth place in revenue.
EA Sports FC 26 dominated the revenue charts, followed by NBA 2K26 in second and Borderlands 4 in third. Fortnite slid to fourth after holding a higher position in August, while Silksong’s strong debut demonstrated intense fan enthusiasm. Counter-Strike 2 took sixth place, ahead of Dying Light: The Beast (7th), Helldivers 2 (8th), Madden NFL 26 (9th), and Valorant (10th) in the earnings race.

Despite leading financially, EA Sports FC 26’s September 26 launch left it absent from the active users leaderboard, where predecessor FC 25 ranked sixth alongside Skate. Fortnite and Call of Duty maintained their usual dominance in player counts, while Helldivers 2 resurged to ninth following its Xbox debut in August.
Notable surges beyond the top tiers included No Man’s Sky’s 34-spot leap to 18th in active users after its Voyagers expansion, and Hades 2 cracking the revenue top 20 post-full release.
