If you’ve already played and mastered Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, it’s time to shift focus to the upcoming release in Square Enix’s legendary RPG series.
With 27th May being Dragon Quest Day, we’re happy to confirm that Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake will launch on PS5 on 30th October, priced at £59.99/$59.99. Pre-orders are now open, with a Trouble-Free Travel Kit available as a bonus.
The in-game bundle includes:
- Three seeds of magic
- Three seeds of life
- Three seeds of agility
- Three seeds of defence
- Three seeds of strength
- One pair of elevating shoes
Players with save data from the previous game will also unlock a dog suit in Dragon Quest 1 and a cat suit in Dragon Quest 2. However, these can also be earned through standard gameplay.
As expected from an HD-2D re-release, both titles combine polygonal and pixel art. Additionally, Square Enix has enhanced certain aspects, including adding new story content and multi-enemy battles in the original Dragon Quest.
A collector’s edition is available exclusively on the Square Enix Store, though the included items—an acrylic character block, enemy block, and digital wallpapers—don’t seem particularly compelling.
