In the early part of this month, we discussed another remarkable successful year for the renowned Japanese game developer, Capcom, which has now decided to expand significantly over the next few years, driven by its recent achievements.
According to information provided by VGC, Capcom announced its plans to construct a new development center in Osaka, scheduled to be completed by 2027. The Resident Evil developers have shared that this new facility will enable the team to grow by 100 employees annually once it’s operational.
The company recently disclosed its financial results, which revealed an eighth consecutive year of record profits. Additionally, Capcom has expressed interest in acquiring more land for future development facilities, contingent upon the team’s continued success in the coming years.
Capcom’s recent success can largely be attributed to the latest release in its long-running Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds. This game achieved tremendous success, selling over 10 million copies within its first month on the market, breaking the previous record and setting a new company benchmark for first-month sales.
