Battlefield 6 Credit Omission for Ridgeline Developers Draws Marcus Lehto’s Displeasure

A dispute has emerged surrounding Battlefield 6 after Marcus Lehto, ex-Halo creative lead and head of Ridgeline Games, posted on LinkedIn criticizing the omission of key contributors from the game’s credits.

It’s distressing to witness numerous former colleagues at Ridgeline Games who dedicated 12-30 months shaping Battlefield 6’s core elements being underrepresented in the final credits. While I departed by choice ahead of the studio’s closure, many team members—myself included—were either downgraded to a generic “Special Thanks” or excluded altogether.

To honor their exceptional efforts, I’m compelled to document their rightful recognition below, detailing their specific roles and contributions.

Accompanying his statement was a corrected credits list featuring excluded developers. Notably, Lehto’s own name appeared among those not formally acknowledged.

Formed during EA’s 2021 franchise restructuring post-Battlefield 2042’s lackluster performance, Ridgeline initially collaborated with DICE on Battlefield 6’s campaign before closing in 2023. Development responsibilities later shifted to Criterion and Motive, though critics panned the final story mode. Despite this, multiplayer components propelled the title to exceptional commercial success, revitalizing the series.
