Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam Deck Native Version Boosts Act 3 Performance, Showcased in New Video

Larian Studios’ latest update for Baldur’s Gate 3 includes a native Steam Deck build that reportedly enhances gameplay fluidity, particularly in resource-intensive areas like Act 3. While measurable benchmarks remain unavailable without Proton tools, early impressions from a Deck Wizard analysis suggest smoother frame rates and reduced stuttering during complex scenes.

The demonstration highlights improved responsiveness in crowded environments compared to previous versions, though exact performance metrics are unverifiable due to compatibility-layer dependencies. This limitation also restricts access to AMD FSR 4 upscaling, but third-party solutions like Lossless Scaling reportedly function with the native build for sharper visuals.

Hotfix #34, which introduced these optimizations, also addresses numerous issues across platforms. Xbox stability enhancements, audio adjustments, and gameplay refinements are detailed in the official patch notes, broadening the title’s playability beyond PC and handheld devices.

As a sprawling RPG averaging 75–100 hours per playthrough, smoother handheld performance could make Baldur’s Gate 3 more accessible for on-the-go adventures. Its intricate D&D-inspired systems, branching narrative, and memorable companions continue to solidify its status as a modern CRPG benchmark, regardless of platform preferences.
