Amid major reveals during the latest State of Play stream, including updates on Saros’s launch and Marvel’s Wolverine, PlayStation confirmed October’s PS Plus Essential lineup will feature Remedy’s acclaimed thriller Alan Wake 2. Additionally, The Last of Us Part II will debut on the PS Plus Extra catalog starting September 26, 2025, aligning with The Last of Us Day celebrations.

Subscribers can access Alan Wake 2 through PS Plus Essential beginning October 7, 2025. It will be accompanied by the mind-bending puzzle adventure Cocoon and the chaotic sandbox title Goat Simulator 3. The current September offerings—Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley, and Viewfinder—will remain claimable until October 6.

While The Last of Us Part II leads October’s PS Plus Extra additions, further titles will be revealed later. Its inclusion was highlighted early due to State of Play’s timing with The Last of Us Day. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus Premium members will see retro fighters Tekken 3 and Soulcalibur 3, as well as Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary, listed as “coming soon” to the Classics Catalog.

Sony noted these three Classics Catalog entries may not represent October’s full lineup, with more details expected in the official announcement. Subscribers can anticipate the full roster of PS Plus Extra and Premium games to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
