An ambitious mod titled Fallout New Vegas RTX Remix is currently being developed to incorporate advanced path-tracing technology into the acclaimed RPG. This project seeks to modernize visual fidelity while preserving the game’s core identity.

Modder skurtyyskirts shared preliminary details and footage of the work-in-progress overhaul. Beyond implementing real-time ray tracing—a feature that already demonstrates substantial enhancements in interior environments—the mod also includes updated texture assets optimized for the new lighting system. Early outdoor scenes reveal a noticeable shift from the original aesthetic. A sneak peek of the modifications can be viewed in the demonstration below.

Over a decade and a half after its debut, Fallout: New Vegas maintains a massive following, frequently cited as a pinnacle of post-apocalyptic storytelling.
