A modified version enabling two-player co-op for Elden Ring Nightreign emerged shortly after release.
Luke Yui, known for creating multiplayer enhancements for previous titles, developed a fix allowing paired gameplay shortly following Nightreign’s debut. This addresses the base game’s enforced three-player grouping system.
“There will be more to come, but whilst the current game lacks 2-player modes, this mod will be available in this state,” Yui stated on his modding platform. “This mod will be expanded on in the future.
“There’s no way to get banned using this mod unless you modify it with the intent of connecting to vanilla players,” he clarified, advising caution regarding third-party modifications.
Critical analysis suggests the game currently prioritizes group play, though developers acknowledged potential adjustments. Earlier statements from the studio indicated reconsideration of two-player functionality: “something that was overlooked during development.”
“FromSoftware’s multiplayer spin-off is an exhilarating rush and a celebration of the studio’s prior achievements Souls veterans will devour,” noted a gameplay evaluation.
