Elden Ring Nightreign Sales Hit 3.5 Million, More Updates Incoming

FromSoftware revealed today that Elden Ring Nightreign, its innovative multiplayer-focused spinoff, has surpassed 3.5 million copies sold within its first five days. This milestone follows an earlier report of 2 million units moved during its debut 24 hours.

The studio hinted at future content, with early additions rolling out in the coming weeks:

To our devoted community – your enthusiasm fuels our work. The journey has just begun. Alongside this year’s planned expansion, players can anticipate fresh features like revamped Nightlord battles starting June and collaborative Cooperative Quests arriving post-launch. We remain grateful.

Though official Cooperative Quest functionality remains pending, PC users can currently access a fan-created modification for team-based gameplay.

Critical reception has been broadly praised, though aggregate review scores trail slightly behind the base game. On Steam, roughly 73% of 42.1K player testimonials recommend the title. Wccftech’s Francesco De Meo praised the title with a 9/10 score, noting:

Nightreign presents a divisive experience. My initial ventures into its perilous world felt jarring, but mastery of its rogue-inspired mechanics transformed my perspective. Over 30+ hours of triumphs and setbacks, its relentless pacing and deep build-crafting became addictive. While starkly different from traditional Souls entries, this ambitious experiment rewards persistence. Even hesitant newcomers might discover an obsession with its shadow-laden realms – a compulsion that’s hard to escape once embraced.
