The retailer Smyths has revealed plans for a late-night release event for the Nintendo Switch 2, enabling those who reserved through Click-and-Collect or Store Collection to collect their consoles promptly.

Locations will open briefly between 12:01am and 12:30am, with Smyths noting a “select number of Nintendo Switch 2 units will be available for sale.” The distribution across stores is unclear, but for those yet to reserve, the closest Smyths location should be visited by midnight on 5th June.

Additionally, several Smyths stores will host a Launch Event starting at 11pm on 4th June. Attendees can experience Mario Kart World on the Switch 2 early, and the first 100 guests at each location will receive a free gift bag.
