ArenaNet has revealed that the final update for the Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds expansion, titled ‘Absolution’, will be released on June 3.
Following the previously released updates ‘Godspawn’ and ‘Repentance’, this patch completes the trio of updates planned for the Janthir Wilds expansion. Players can expect new game modes, rewards, a fresh map, and an engaging story. The narrative will guide them through a thrilling conclusion, uncovering ancient secrets within the Primordial Egress on the outskirts of Tyria.
Nestled within the Janthir Wilds is Bava Nisos, a once-magnificent Mursaat city now distorted by centuries of enchanted decay. The update introduces a map-wide meta event that directs players toward the Mists Gate, a pivotal location in the titan invasion narrative. Additionally, a new boss, the titan Ura, will join the Convergence game mode, designed for large groups of up to 50 players.
Also included in the update is a new Fractal dungeon called Kinfall, where players assume the role of a lowland kodan to explore events from their cultural past. This dungeon marks the first time players will encounter the whispers of the elder dragon Jormag, shedding light on their migration from northern Tyria to the Janthir Wilds.
Further enhancements to the Homesteads feature include doubling the decoration limit from 1,000 to 2,000 items, allowing for more elaborate living spaces. The Homestead Mastery level will also increase to 500, unlocking new crafted decorations. Additionally, players can look forward to a variety of new rewards, including a legendary backpack and glider, new weapon sets, and updated offerings in the Wizards’ Vault.
With the transition to yearly expansions, ArenaNet is anticipated to announce the next expansion in the coming weeks.
