Total War: Warhammer 3 is receiving a new expansion titled Tides of Torment, which introduces three new legendary lords. We previously met Dechala the Denied One, and now we are introduced to Sayl the Faithless, the second of these new leaders.
Sayl’s unique approach and new units
Sayl, who joins the Norsca faction, is described as one of the most powerful wizards in the game. Unlike other leaders, Sayl focuses on deception and manipulation rather than brute strength. He gains power by convincing enemies to trust him before betraying them, but this strategy also increases the number of adversaries nearby. Sayl stands out for having two unique “spell lords,” offering significant versatility. Players can raid settlements, destroy them, or dedicate them to Chaos gods. There’s also a system to plan and execute betrayals to gain rewards.
Sayl is accompanied by three new units:
- Nightmaw: A creature formed by combining several unlucky victims of Sayl’s spells, capable of using Sayl’s abilities to attack enemies.
- Fimir Noble: A stealthy unit that casts spells and surprises enemies, while also providing bonuses to other Fimir units.
- Chimera: A three-headed, flying monster with diverse attacks, offering great mobility and adaptability in combat.
