The development team of Infinity Nikki has apologized after a recent update led to a surge in negative feedback on Steam. The free-to-play game, which launched late last year, was initially well-received but has faced issues recently.
Version 1.5, released on April 28, introduced bugs such as inability to start the game on PS5, crashes, and character movement issues. Players also criticized changes to the game’s story and monetization practices.
The update led to negative Steam reviews, prompting the team to extend Version 1.5’s end date to ensure stability and prevent future issues. The team acknowledged the impact on players’ trust and apologized, stating: “We’re deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused.”
They also explained that the absence of the Threads of Reunion storyline was not intentional and that related elements are planned for future updates. The team emphasized their commitment to addressing technical challenges and improving the game’s narrative and performance.
Compensation, including in-game items, was offered to affected players. The team also introduced a new initiative, Miraland Round Table, to gather player feedback via email or in-game channels.
Despite recent issues, Infinity Nikki was praised on release for its innovative approach to open-world gacha games, offering competition to established titles like Genshin Impact.
