New leaks from Honkai: Star Rail are stirring up excitement among fans as they tease the introduction of an undisclosed character named Acheron, who is set to join the game in the future. What’s catching the attention of enthusiasts is the uncanny resemblance between Acheron and a character from Honkai Impact 3rd.
Honkai: Star Rail, part of the HoYoverse RPG series, has steadily expanded its character roster since its initial launch in April. Each game update typically introduces three new playable characters, consisting of two five-star characters and one four-star character. The latest version 1.3 added two highly anticipated five-star characters, Imbibitor Lunae and Fu Xuan, along with the four-star character Lynx, who is introduced as the youngest sibling of Gepard and Serval. Now, the appearance of another new character is generating excitement, with hints of possible ties to Honkai Impact 3rd.
A recently shared image, courtesy of the Honkai: Star Rail leaker hsr_stuff2 and shared by fellow leaker Stepleaker, unveils concept art for the mysterious character Acheron. While details about Acheron’s abilities, element, and release date within Honkai: Star Rail remain undisclosed, we do have a glimpse of her appearance. Acheron is depicted with long dark blue hair and features a predominantly black-and-purple color scheme in her design. Notably, she sports a tattoo on her left leg and an oni emblem on the sleeve of her dress.
What’s particularly intriguing is the strong resemblance that Acheron bears to a character from Honkai Impact 3rd, Raiden Mei. This similarity has led to speculation among fans that Raiden Mei may make an appearance in Honkai: Star Rail in the future, possibly alongside a Star Rail version of Yae Sakura. The game’s roster already includes characters that allude to the playable cast of its predecessor, such as Bronya, Seele, and Welt, among others.
Acheron’s early reveal is just one example of Honkai: Star Rail’s tendency to tease characters well ahead of their official release. For instance, Lynx, the game’s newest four-star character, had her kit details unveiled several months before her official announcement, with gameplay insights emerging as early as June.
