Skydance Games and Amy Hennig’s highly anticipated title Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been postponed again, slipping past its initial early 2026 launch target. The studio confirmed the updated schedule earlier today.
This marks the second major gaming delay announced within hours, with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI postponement dominating headlines. Notably, Skydance’s update arrived just moments before Rockstar’s official statement surfaced.
In a social media post, studio representatives stated: “We’re focused on creating extraordinary gaming experiences that respect these iconic characters and universes. Given the scale of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, we’ve chosen to extend development to achieve the excellence our team and fans deserve.”
“This adjustment moves our release timeframe beyond early 2026. We appreciate the global community’s enthusiasm and can’t wait to reveal more about this groundbreaking project in the coming months.”
Skydance’s collaboration with Hennig on the Marvel project was confirmed years ago, though formal details emerged in March 2024 alongside its original 2025 release plan. Following Rockstar’s May 2026 GTA VI reveal earlier this year, Skydance adjusted their timeline to early 2026 before this latest postponement.
Current projections suggest a mid-to-late 2026 release window, though exact dates remain undetermined. These developments solidify 2026 as a pivotal year for AAA releases across the entertainment software landscape.
