Both items grant access to special Halloween-themed content. Below, we outline strategies for acquiring these crucial pieces.

Obtaining the Rune and Key in Blair’s Halloween Event

Players must engage with the Dunwich Sanatorium map—Blair’s largest—to participate. Start by creating or joining a lobby. The game begins inside a van where you’ll gather supplies before exploring.

Acquiring the Rune

Decipher clues across the map to uncover a code:

• Locate the map on your left upon entering the lobby
• Identify four purple markers indicating clue locations
• Visit rooms 17 and 38 (first floor), then 58 and 82 (second floor) to collect code digits
• Input the code via a keyboard in room 47 to reveal an elevator leading to the Rune

Securing the Key

Collect and position four colored shards:

• Yellow: From the van’s cutscene to room 79’s star symbol (survive ghost encounter)
• Blue: Return to van, place near lobby’s room 9 (avoid haunting)
• Green: Bring shard to room 92’s cross marker (evade pursuit)
• Red: Transfer to room 28 after retrieval (final ghost challenge)

After placing all shards, collect the Key from the van and insert it into room 47’s pillar keyhole to trigger a reward-granting sequence.
