A fresh modification for The Witcher 3, called Wild Monster Hunt, has surfaced on Nexus Mods (as reported by DSO Gaming). Crafted by modder Aeltoth, this add-on introduces a standalone experience inspired by Monster Hunter’s gameplay loop.
Wild Monster Hunt (WMH) lets players dive into a dedicated WMH campaign or engage alongside the base game to gather resources. The mod features a customizable basecamp reminiscent of Blood & Wine’s Corvo Bianco estate, but tailored for optimizing creature-slaying efficiency.
Aeltoth designed an expansive new region, rivaling Toussaint in scale, where players undertake randomized bounties to acquire materials.
By completing these missions, users can forge improved equipment and tackle higher-tier beasts. Exclusive crafting recipes at the area’s specialized furnace enable novel character builds unavailable in vanilla gameplay.

Though WMH can be launched via a Quick Start option in the main menu, occasional instability may occur. The creator suggests an alternative entry method using a new fast-travel marker positioned east of White Orchard village, beyond the bridge and guard-post structure.
Accessing WMH through this in-world signpost maintains balance with the core game’s progression systems. A return portal within the camp enables seamless transitions back to regular gameplay.
The mod’s noticeboard introduces high-risk modes like Merciless Path, implementing permadeath mechanics where fallen hunters lose their gear. Enabled challenges boost reward quality to counterbalance increased difficulty.

Separately, CD Projekt RED has postponed its cross-platform mod integration system until 2025, utilizing mod.io for synchronization. This follows May’s REDKit update that revitalized community projects, including ambitious endeavors like The Last Wish Project – an adaptation of Sapkowski’s foundational Witcher novel.
